SPI Spooky Walk @ Bukit Brown Cemetery
on 4 April 2010, Sunday



This spooky wall is carefully selected to be held on 4/4 that is just prior to the annual Qing Ming festival (aka Chinese All Souls Day or Tomb Sweeping day) on the following day 5/4. Refer to wiki article here about Qing Ming.

Rich in Chinese cultural belief and ritualistic practices the atmosphere is, you will set foot on one of the oldest Singapore surviving cemeteries where you can observe a buffet of antique tombs and offering activities.

Don’t miss this historical event as the cemetery is destined to be urbanized in time, and the construction of the nearby Bukit Brown MRT station at Jalan Mashor is due to be completed this year.

Join SPI in this spooky walk to stroll among 80,000 graves near the season of Qing Ming. It is an unique experience in exploring Bukit Brown cemetery at night, in the backdrop of darkness filled with historical gems.


Meet up:
Meet at 7:30pm at the exit of Lavendar MRT station.

Time: 7:30pm - 11:00pm


Cost:
Cost is on basis of sharing a coach transport
$5 each for SPI Agents and SPI Friends
$8 each for public
We will pick you up from Lavendar MRT, and drop you back there at around 11pm for the last trains. Those who drive can park their cars at nearby carparks at Lavendar MRT


Notes:
Advised to bring torch light, camera, poncho, water bottle and insect repellent
Strengtheous trekking and moderate hill climbing in exploration
Wear proper shoes
